Barcelona, Spain, has become one of the most exciting tourist spots in the world. It is fashionable as a destination, not just for its historic culture, but because Barcelona entertainment takes a back seat to no spot in the country. Here are some of the Barcelona entertainment events / venues you should be sure to check out.

First, if you love art, be sure to check out the MNAC (Catalonia's National Art Museum). It has a large amount of Romanesque art that makes the trip worthwhile. Nearby is the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, containing, among other things, the art of Picasso, Fundacio Miro, and Antoni Tapies.

Nightclubs are a popular destination for many seeking out the best in Barcelona entertainment. Many of these are within walking distance of one another, with a nearly infinite variety of genres. There are salsa clubs, clubs playing techno, Spanish pop, and more..

Along those same lines, be sure to head to Passeiq del Born. This area is popping with modern bars, while the adjacent roads are filled with medieval homes. The bars in this area are intimate and perfect for young couples. If you prefer to sit outside and drink, check out the Gothic District.

 

We talked about night clubs. There is more live music to be found over in the Eixample District, where you'll find famous spots such as Luz de Gas and Bikini, a well-known establishment that hosts concerts at night. Or you can walk or ride the train to Razzmatazz, BeCool and Sidecar to listen to local bands.

When you think of Barcelona entertainment, do you think of Spanish dancing? Over in the Port Olympic and Maremagnum are several discotheques with a variety of musical styles. Sample them all or pick the style that suits you best.

One other thing to keep in mind: If you really want to sample something different in the way of Barcelona entertainment, then just spend a lot of time on the streets. Especially at night time, and especially on the weekends, you can find all sorts of street entertainers performing. Not only singers or musicians, but if you're lucky, you can find someone putting on a show with street puppets. And hey, that's entertainment at its cheapest!
